As business owners that regularly host medium-sized gatherings, we have been making sure to stay informed so we can make the best decisions for our guests, workers and vendors. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is now recommending no gatherings of 50 or more people for the next 8 weeks (until May 11th). The state of Illinois has also closed all restaurants and bars, and is urgently calling for social distancing.
We have postponed all events that are scheduled between now and May 11th. At this time, we are not postponing events after May 11th. But we will continue to monitor the guidance of health authorities and make any necessary changes.
Going forward, we are offering all guests with scheduled events either a full refund or the opportunity to reschedule for a later date if their event needs to be postponed or cancelled because of the coronavirus.
We are hopeful that normalcy will return this summer, but even so we will be following guidelines for ensuring everyone’s safety going forward. We are increasing our cleaning measures to comply with CDC recommendations. We have paid sick leave for all employees to make sure all of our staff can stay home if feeling at all sick. We will be talking with all vendors about their guidelines and our expectations for anyone working at our space.
We take the safety and health of our guests, employees and vendors very seriously and we will continue to adjust our business practices to conform with the guidance of authorities as it changes.
Please stay healthy and safe.
